Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been won on hardcourt

A resurgent Medvedev won his maiden title for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition final.

The athlete, a former world number one, has endured a challenging period, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the American major.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his serving in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with long-time coach his previous coach.

Presently working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive win over challenger Moutet.

This represents his first trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface since spring of 2023.

The win also signifies the Russian has achieved 21 victories at twenty-one various competitions.

"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my two daughters at once, so to win a trophy is really nice," stated world number 14 the champion.

"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.

His retrieving strategy and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had led commentators to doubt if his capacity to compete at the elite level was finished.

However the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, striving to approach the net and compete aggressively, reinforced by an improved serving game.

He fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, securing 4 of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.

The pair traded breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden tour championship, gained dominance to force a third set.

He rescued four early-game chances in a competitive final set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to serve for the match.

Appropriately, Medvedev secured the win with a shot at the net area, with his opponent incapable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
